T&C’s

Dental practices commonly require a deposit to secure treatment appointments, typically deducted from the total treatment cost. The deposit amount can vary depending on the length of the appointment and the type of treatment, with longer or specialist appointments potentially requiring larger deposits. Deposits are often fully refundable if cancellation and no-show policies are followed.
Generally, we book around three to four weeks in advance for our appointments, it’s extremely important that you attend your booked appointment, you must give the practice 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. This allows us to release the appointments to patients who may be waiting for an emergency.
We would like to politely remind all of our patients that if three appointments are missed or a 24 hour cancellation notice is not given there is a possibility that we will not be able to offer you treatment in the future, as per the guidelines and our practice policy.

Purpose:
Deposits secure the appointment and allow the practice to manage their schedule, as they can reallocate the time slot if the patient doesn’t attend. For our private patients, a £30 failure to attend fee will be charged automatically for missed private appointments, including hygiene appointments.

Amount:
The deposit may be a percentage of the total treatment cost, a fixed amount, or vary based on the length of the appointment. For private treatment we may request a deposit of the treatment before booking usually around 50% or a proportion of the treatment cost. This deposit will go towards your treatment.

Deductibility:
Deposits are typically deducted from the overall treatment cost.

Refunds:
Deposits are often refundable if the patient provides sufficient notice of cancellation, as detailed in the practice’s cancellation policy.

Cancellation and No-Show:
Failure to attend or cancelling appointments with insufficient notice can result in forfeiture of the deposit. However, if you fail to notify us of cancellation, cancel within 24 hours without valid reason or you are too late and cannot be seen by the dentist or the hygienist we will take the deposit to cover costs of wasted chair time.

Rescheduling:
Rescheduling requests should be made in advance, and the deposit may be transferred to the new appointment. Any new patients or re -registering patients who fail to attend their first registration appointment or fail to give a 24 hours’ notice of a cancellation, will be unable to be seen again at the practice.

Exceptions:
Emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Payment:
Deposits can be paid via various methods, and some treatment’s may require payment in full before starting treatment plans.

Deposits:
For specialist appointments (such as implants) the deposit required may vary from specialist to specialist, dependent on the stage of the treatment and type of appointment. Full details will be given throughout the treatment plans. (see implant pricing guidance).
